From the team behind Belly Kitchen & Bar and Sin Muerte comes Quartz, a new immersive cocktail bar slated to open in Downtown Phoenix this spring.
An Instrumental Hospitality concept, the group behind Downtown Phoenix staples Belly Kitchen & Bar and Sin Muerte comes Quartz, a new nightlife gem slated to open in the heart of the city in the spring.
The concept was created in collaboration with Chuckie Duff, the creator of The Rebel Lounge, Iggy’z Pizza and Cobra Arcade Bar, and aims to create an immersive hidden gem on Van Buren, the neighborhood home to The Van Buren, Gus’s Fried Chicken and State 48 Brewing. Though not much is known about the new site carving its way into downtown, the team let us in on a little secret: the bar’s theme will be an ode to deserts worldwide, from Arizona to Antarctica (fun fact: Antarctica is the largest desert in the world). Each selected desert will offer a craft cocktail as unique as the terrain itself, with high-flavor profiles and visually stimulating experiences.
Quartz Downtown Phoenix’s cocktail program will feature glasses from Max Berlin, known for his award-winning drinks at Glai Baan. He was tapped for the new cocktail bar by Paul Waxman, beverage director for Instrumental Hospitality.
“While we’re not ready to lift the curtain just yet,” says co-owner Waxman in a press release, “Quartz will be an immersive cocktail experience that will quench the thirst of us desert dwellers, and is something that Max Berlin and I have been working on for a while now.”
The duo have several different experiences that will be expressed within the bar, and more details will follow in the coming weeks leading to the bar’s official opening.
Quartz Downtown Phoenix is slated to open in Spring 2023. The Quartz team is now hiring all bar positions.
