Restaurant of the Week: Ahipoki Bowl

Ahipoki Bowl started as a health-conscious concept in California. In recent years, the brand has expanded into Arizona where it currently has 10 locations, dishing out delicious and popular poke bowls among its ever-growing menu.

Arizona is still firmly in the summer season, with triple-digit temps and weekends spent poolside. To complement the hot, sunny days, we are craving dishes that are light, refreshing and feel-good. Thank goodness for Ahipoki Bowl.

At its 10 Valley locations, the quick-serve restaurant offers a mouthwatering fusion of Japanese and Hawaiian flavors, coupled with a fresh fish, in the form of poke bowls. Guests get to choose a base of white or brown rice, kelp noodles, organic greens or a mix of two. Then, it’s time to pile on the fresh fish (salmon, ahi, octopus and shrimp, to name a few options), toppings (wasabi, avocado, edamame, crab salad, ginger, cucumber and more) and sauces, that range from sweet to spicy. Diners can even choose to make poke tacos, instead of a bowl.

The Hawaiian bowl is a fan favorite—with tangy tuna, pineapple, ginger, edamame, crab salad and sesame seeds—and might just transport those who dig in to beachy, sun-soaked paradise (in their mind, anyway).

Grilled Salmon Bowl

To offer even more options to its local diners, Ahipoki Bowl just launched a grilled menu at a few Arizona locations (Queen Creek, Scottsdale, Chandler and Phoenix). The lineup features salmon, unagi and chicken teriyaki, and each bowl can be customized with various toppings and sauces, as with the poke. The sweet and savory chicken teriyaki is a crowd pleaser, perfect for kiddos or picky eaters—and under $8!

And a trip to Ahipoki Bowl isn’t complete without one of its summer-perfect signature iced drinks: Thai iced tea, matcha tea latte and kid-friendly tropical drink (pair this one with the Hawaiian bowl).
