Located at the new Canopy by Hilton Tempe Downtown, Alter Ego is the hotel’s signature restaurant led by seasoned Valley chef Ken Arneson.
Alter Ego serves up elevated fusion cuisine made with fresh locally and regionally sourced ingredients as well as craft cocktails. The modern interior is beautiful and Instagram-worthy, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, lush greenery, custom wooden shelving, sleek marble countertops and exclusive, curated pieces from local artists.
During the hotel’s initial opening phase, Alter Ego will have a limited, scaled-back menu for all meal periods and will implement distanced seating and Hilton’s CleanStay procedures.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, some of our favorite dishes from the current limited menu included the sweet Thai shishito peppers and the Banh Mi bowl to start. For entrees, we highly recommend the skirt steak chimichurri served with absolutely delicious papas bravas. We also loved the ponzu-glazed seared salmon.
The current menu offers chocolate tres leches cake or In “The Pot” Cobbler made with seasonal fruit. Both are definitely worth saving room for.
Once you finish dinner, we suggest making your way upstairs to Alibi, the hotel’s rooftop deck for beautiful views of the city and a variety of craft cocktails, wine and beer to choose from.
