Scottsdale’s newest restaurant gem, Cala at Senna House, adds a refreshing flair to the Valley’s dining scene through a boho aesthetic, Mediterranean-infused dishes and an inimitable vibe.
Cala is the byproduct of a collaboration between Chef Beau MacMillanāof Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa fameāand the Scottsdale-based restaurant group, Clive Collective.
The coastal conceptāwhich is located on the grounds of the Senna House hotelāis relatively new to Old Town’s restaurant scene (having only opened last month), but it’s already made a notable impression on locals and visitors alike.
Upon entering Cala, guests are treated to an effortless bohemian aestheticācomplemented by neutral color palettes, lush rows of hanging plants, and warm low-lights that span across the space’s expansive 1,700-sq.-ft. outdoor patio.
In theme with the restaurant’s design, Cala’s menu also highlights fresh seafood, pasta, cheese and vegetables, all of which rely on only the freshest seasonal ingredients that are actually inspired by local organic farmers.
Dive into Cala’s refreshing (and surprisingly affordable) starters like the classic hummusāmade from whipped white beans red pepper matbucha and crispy chickpeasāor the flavorful tuna tartare, which boasts tastes of toasted pistachio, tomato conserva, capers and Calabrian chili.
For entrees, the list of available (and absolutely can’t-miss) dishes is abundant. Cala’s margherita pizza features freshness in every savory bite and the Lumache a la Vodka pasta is buzzing with flavors of pancetta and an heirloom tomato vodka sauce.
From the menu to the design and even the location, everything about Cala is thoughtfully crafted and true to its Mediterranean roots.
Cala Scottsdale at Senna House is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
