Say hi to Fly Bye, now open at Desert Ridge Marketplace. The North Phoenix eatery, which started as a pop-up ghost kitchen in 2020, is a delicious ode to Detroit-style pan pizza and crispy chicken tenders.
Desert Ridge Marketplace’s Fly Bye, from Fox Restaurant Concepts, marks its second Valley location, the first of which is found in north-central Phoenix. Unlike its original location, the just-opened Fly Bye is home to both indoor and (covered) outdoor dining spaces. The industrial-inspired interior features colorful artwork and quirky framed pieces with sayings like, “I could give up pizza, but I’m not a quitter.” Well, once you sink your teeth into the Detroit-style pan pizza, you’ll realize you’re just getting started.
The casual, counter-service eatery not only dishes up the aforementioned Detroit-style pan pizza (that ranges from classics like pepperoni to more decadent options like black truffle-mushroom and chicken parmesan), but also an array of snacks, salads and chicken tenders and wings. The pizza, with the crisp, caramelized crust, is a must, especially if you’re ordering to-go for a crowd (football season is just around the corner, after all). But the chicken–whether the buttermilk-dipped, hand-breaded chicken tenders or the slow-cooked crispy wings–might be our Fly Bye fave.
The tenders and wings are served with your choice of sauce, including buffalo, honey hot, Nashville hot or about 10 other options. On the side? Ranch so tasty you’ll want it by the bottle. The tenders are a tasty option for kiddos, too.
For a little greenery to balance out the cheese and crust, the menu has a variety of flavor-packed salads. The Brussels salad or Simple Caesar are the perfect partner for a slice or two, while the meaty Roma salad or BBQ chicken salad make filling entrees.
Though dine-in is available at the Desert Ridge location, the eatery has a fast and simple online ordering system for both pickup and delivery.
