Restaurant of the Week: Foch Café & Bistro

Located right off of Mill Avenue in Tempe, the newly opened Foch Café & Bistro specializes in American-European fusion cuisine. In addition to delicious options for dining in all day long (as well as cocktails with fresh-pressed juice), Foch houses a grab-and-go market and coffee bar for busy patrons.

Just steps away from bustling Mill Avenue, Foch Café & Bistro (pronounced “fawsh”) offers a casual, cozy reprieve with a quaint patio–and a delicious menu, to boot. Breakfast, which is served until noon, features an impressive lox and bagel board, an almost-too-pretty-to-eat avocado toast, omelets, breakfast wraps, crepes and more. The El Patron Bloody Mary is a morning meal in itself, with a cold-pressed house Bloody blend, dill-infused vodka, cucumber, lemon, lime, olive, crushed pepper and–the kicker–triangles of four-cheese grilled grilled.

Come lunch or dinnertime, diners can dig into the brie panini, with fig jam, chicken, apples and creamy brie cheese, one of the tastiest sandwiches we’ve tried lately. The presentation of the parchment-wrapped sandwich, paired with incredible parmesan-herb fries, is super charming, too. Burgers, grilled cheese, a fried chicken sandwich and other paninis are on the menu too, if you’re craving a handheld.

The kale salad is equally delicious with a medley of colors and textures. The beautiful heap of shredded kale, roasted sweet potato, dried cranberries, almonds, quinoa, cucumbers and slightly sweet raspberry vinaigrette makes for a satisfying fall salad (we suggest adding the chicken).

Craft cocktails make up a third of Foch’s menu, showcasing the care that goes into creating them. The cocktails are concocted with fresh-pressed juices that have been made in house, with favorites being Scorched Earth with activated charcoal, fresh juiced pineapple, mint, lime and rum and the jalapeno margarita with agave, a house sour blend and jalapeno-infused tequila.

Foch Café & Bistro offers full service dine-in Wednesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the market section is open for grab-and-go items daily, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To learn more, visit www.fochcafe.com.
