Restaurant of the Week: Hand Cut Burgers & Chophouse

One of Old Town Scottsdale’s hottest restaurants, Hand Cut Burgers & Chophouse—famous primarily for its savory burger and meat options—has introduced a revamped menu chock-full of pastas, salads and other flavorful dishes that rely on fresh ingredients to add a certain uniqueness to an already diverse menu.

One visit into Hand Cut and you can immediately tell that the space is special. The stylish gastropub is decorated in a green and brown color palette that plays into chevron designs, plaid patterned booths and thoughtfully incorporated décor accents to create a warm and charming ambience.

For as beautiful as the restaurant’s interior is, Hand Cut’s food makes it even better.

Regardless of what you have a taste for, you’ll be able to find it (along with a few surprises) at Hand Cut—especially with the latest menu additions, which prove the team behind the scenes is in the business of so much more than just really good burgers.

Some of their newest offerings include a Tuscan Chopped Meatball, Harvest Kale Salad and Hawaiian Pork Chop—which is an apple-brined bone-in double-cut pork chop that’s elevated by a sweet Hawaiian jam and lemon arugula.

Though even in the midst of a “rebrand” of sorts, Hand Cut still manages to cook up a burger unlike any other, with its latest (and arguably, most savory) burger experiment being a Truffle Cheeseburger—which tops candied tomato, black truffle mayo and baby arugula on a soft brie bun.

While the food is exquisite, no visit to Hand Cut is complete without indulging in the decadent cocktail menu. There are a handful of can’t-miss offerings, but we’d argue the Strawberry Crush is particularly divine—made with Four Roses bourbon, strawberry puree, house-made citrus mix and an airy banana foam on top.
