If you find yourself in the bustling heart of Downtown Phoenix, you have to try the latest addition to the city’s culinary scene: Huss Brewing Co. The new destination offers craft beers brewed to perfection and an array of modern Midwest favorites to complement.
Owned and operated by husband-and-wife duo, Leah and Jeff Huss, Huss Brewing Co. in Downtown Phoenix offers the ultimate hangout spot, whether you are killing time with a cold pint before a game at the nearby Footprint Center or enjoying a night out with friends. The brewery, which joins its sister locations in Uptown Plaza and Tempe, offers a laidback vibe with a rustic interior featuring deep wood elements, green plant life and flatscreens with the latest games. The bar is the focal point of the space, with surrounding tables that carry outside and onto the downtown street with the help of a garage-style wall.
With 30 years of combined experience in the brewing industry, Leah and Jeff have crafted some of the finest beers in the Valley, with favorites including the Scottsdale Blonde (a flagship sip), Papago Orange Blossom, the Copper State IPA and the Genuine Sunshine Lager. In addition to its massive beer program, the spot also offers handcrafted cocktails and wine by the bottle or glass. Each beer is curated at the Huss taphouse in Tempe.
Though Huss is prominently known for its award-winning beers, the food is to die for and will have you returning to the spot more times than you would like to admit (we have gone three times this week). Some menu favorites to try include the smoked beer brat with smoked bratwurst, beer onions, sauerkraut and spicy brown mustard on a locally-made pretzel bun; the jalapeño poppers with oven-roasted yellow jalapeños, a spicy nduja cream cheese stuffing and prosciutto; or the classic cheeseburger. The fare lineup also includes vegan and vegetarian options including a meat-free brat and black bean nachos.
