Restaurant of the Week: La Pizzetta

If you like quaint, locally owned restaurants and authentic Italian food, La Pizzetta in North Scottsdale is a restaurant you will love.

Nestled at the base of the McDowell Mountains in the McDowell Mountain Ranch community, La Pizzetta is led by Chef Pietro Pizzurro, who was born and raised in Sicily, Italy.

Their flour and tomatoes for sauce are sourced from Italy, and their produce is local whenever possible. They use a Valoriani pizza oven that is hand crafted by artisans from Tuscany – it is Italy’s original modular wood-burning pizza oven! You can taste the authenticity in their pizzas.


We loved the Capricciosa pizza, which has tomato sauce, artichokes, Kalamata olives, prosciutto and mozzarella. The special pasta that evening was a spinach ravioli – it was so good we think they need to make that a staple on the menu. If you have room for dessert, you won’t be disappointed with the limoncello mascarpone cake.


La Pizzetta is open for pick-up or dine-in only Tuesday – Sunday.
