Restaurant of the Week: Litchfield’s

The Wigwam Resort’s signature restaurant, Litchfield’s, offers fine dining in a comfortable atmosphere while supporting the local community with a menu crafted from farm-to-table and locally sourced produce.

The historic charm of The Wigwam carries through into Litchfield’s with intimate tables as well as a community table inside and a landscaped veranda and patio for outdoor seating. Chef de Cuisine Jason Paterno shares his talents and insights as he creates culinary masterpieces using a cooking fireplace that is open to the restaurant.

To start the evening, choose from the impressive wine list or a list of beers and cocktails. For the appetizer, we recommend the tender Pork Belly with polenta, blueberry, red onion, jalapeno honey and cilantro, or the Foie Gras with balsamic onion, strawberry, mint and crostini.

For soups and salads, you must try the Cucumber Gazpacho with melon, green grape, pistachio and mint or the Arugula Salad with fresh peaches, blueberries, candied pecans, goat cheese and lemon vinaigrette.

Entree options include a variety of seafood and meat. The Diver Sea Scallops are perfectly cooked in a vanilla brown butter with bunch carrot, black lentils and almond. The Wagyu Short Rib is served with cheddar grits, green apple, onion and parsley.

Make sure to save room for dessert! If you are a chocolate peanut butter lover, you will have to order the chocolate cake with peanut butter ganache, raspberry and peanut butter cup ice cream. If pies are more your thing, you will enjoy the Cobbler with peach, granola, tart cherry and cream cheese ice cream.
