Restaurant of the Week: NOBANA

NOBANA, a new Asian-inspired ghost kitchen from the owner of Wildflower, is making delivery even more inviting with its delicious, flavor-packed bone broth and gluten-free noodle bowls, salads and wraps. NOBANA is currently serving North Scottsdale.

Wildflower, a 25-year-old locally owned and operated Arizona restaurant concept, has recently launched its newest venture: a ghost kitchen serving up Asian-inspired eats with Chef Chris Mayo at the helm. Operating solely via delivery through DoorDash, UBER Eats and Postmates, NOBANA (which means “wildflower” in Japanese) specializes in providing adventurous flavors right to your front door. NOBANA is also sensitive to dietary restrictions with various vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.

You won’t find anything on the NOBANA menu that will weigh you down; everything is light and feel-good, starting with the refreshing Thai crunch salad. The salad features a rainbow of nutritious goods, including organic field greens, green and red cabbage, red bell peppers, pickled cucumbers, bean sprouts, organic carrots, celery, jicama, cilantro and scallions, with Thai peanut dressing for drizzling.

If you’re not in a broth or bowl mood, try the Thai chicken wrap, with sliced all-natural chicken, Thai peanut sauce, organic field greens, organic carrots, bean sprouts, cilantro and mint in a sprouted seven grain wrap served with a side of spicy sambal sauce. The wrap is sided with a spicy soba noodle salad, making for a satisfying-yet-light entrée.

With a bold flavor to transport you to a beachy paradise, the coconut lime and sweet potato bowl is bursting with vibrancy and veggies while the spicy miso corn bowl is wonderfully warming and comforting.

Another comforting classic is NOBANA’s Vietnamese Pho, with beef bone broth with rice noodles, spinach, shiitake, organic carrots, bean sprouts, cilantro, mint, basil, chilies and fresh lime. A number of proteins are available, too, for heartier tastes.

Dessert can often be an after-thought when ordering delivery, but don’t skip NOBANA’s two dessert offerings: chewy coconut bites and dark chocolate brownie bites. With four perfect petite squares per order, these treats are just enough for something sweet post-meal–and they are a delish hit for the whole family.

NOBANA currently serves the North Scottsdale area, with plans to expand to additional Wildflower locations throughout the Valley later this year. For more information, visit eatnobana.com.
