With four popular Arizona locations, Italian-food-loving locals never have to go far for scratch-made pizzas, pastas and hand-crafted cocktails at North Italia.
The newest North Italia location, in Gilbert, might hold the title as the SanTan Village area’s most beautiful dining destination. With an airy and open space thanks to soaring ceilings, a farmhouse-industrial design and a large patio anchored by an indoor/outdoor bar, the restaurant is an easy choice for a casual-yet-elevated dining experience with family and friends. And its delightful, knowledgeable staff is the cherry on top.
North Italia Gilbert boasts a menu of approachable from-scratch dishes, including pizzas, pastas, salads, starters and meat- or seafood-centric entrees. (You can even spy the kitchen staff whipping up homemade pasta in the exhibition-style kitchen.) Recently, the dining destination launched its new fall/winter menu with delectable, comforting picks across all menu categories. Roasted porchetta, squid ink tonnarelli, braised short rib lumache (a unique, shell-shaped pasta) and Tuscan half chicken are among the fresh offerings.
Those who fall hard for autumnal flavors will adore the burrate di stagione appetizer and the anolini entree (a type of thin, stuffed pasta), both brimming with tender butternut squash. (We’re told the heavenly anolini often sells out.) The seasonal vegetable salad–also featuring butternut squash–is chock-full of Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, kale, radicchio, pecorino, fregola, pistachios, dates and white balsamic vinaigrette for a filling, veggie-packed option. To drink? The new Black Fig Manhattan or crowd-pleasing (and sunset-hued) Sicilian margarita are perfect for washing down the fall dishes.
Lunch is served Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; dinner is offered Sunday to Thursday, 4 to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 4 to 11 p.m. Brunch is served on the weekend.
