Restaurant of the Week: The Americano

The Americano is the Italian Steakhouse that has become the talk of the town, and it is easy to see why. The decor and atmosphere feels luxurious, yet the staff is approachable and welcoming. Located in North Scottsdale off Chauncey Lane and the Loop 101 it is the perfect spot for a corporate event or an intimate dinner with someone special.

The cocktail menu was artfully crafted by Christopher Cuestas and has inspirational elements from all over Italy. The “Versace on the Floor” cocktail is their best selling cocktail and features a chili-infused vodka, coconut and white balsamic, mesquite honey, and topped with basil oil foam. It’s an adventurous mix of sweet and spicy for those who want to try something different. Their wine collection is equally as impressive, designed to include the best pairings from all over Italy, so no matter what you order, from the Franciacorta to the Rosé, you can have a carefully selected wine pairing to go along with it.

The Americano prides itself on offering authentic and high-quality dishes. The pasta is made fresh daily and features simple yet elegant sauces to complement their beautiful pastas. The Spaghetti Chitarra Verde is a spaghetti base with a savory creamy pesto, Castelvetrano olives, pea tendrils and topped with an herb crumble. Or if you’re in the mood for some luxury comfort food, the Agnolotti del Plin is a pasta filled with a ricotta and spinach cream and bathed in a velvety pepita and Calabrian Chile sauce. This pasta feels like an elevated take on mac & cheese, and is a must-try. The Americano also carries lighter fare like their Mediterranean salads, raw bar and even tableside Caviar.

If you’re a fan of surf ‘n’ turf, you can even get a Bistecca Mare-Monti, which includes a bone-in filet and a half lobster tail. Or you can try the Tomahawk if you’re looking for a real showstopper.

Make sure you leave room for desserts, the talented pastry chefs play no games. The Stracciatella Pannacotta has four different textures of beets, a stracciatella gelato, topped with roasted pistachios. It is light and refreshing at the same time. They also carry delicious classics like a house tiramisu or the Americano Rocher which is a take on the classic Ferrari Rocher.
