“Love on the rocks” isn’t a good thing–until now. Chandler’s award-winning sushi bar, Rock Lobster, has introduced a special “Love on the Rocks” date night menu every Thursday night for couples craving over-the-top sushi rolls and creative cocktails.
Already an area favorite for innovative sushi rolls for the last 13 years, the Chandler restaurant kicked things up a notch when it recently welcomed Executive Chef Christina Dalumpinis. Chef Dalumpinis was born and raised in South Korea and combines her cultural heritage with innovative approaches in the Rock Lobster kitchen. Diners can catch Chef at work by grabbing a seat at the sleek bar, or opt for a spot in the comfortable dining room or spacious wraparound patio.
Beyond sushi, the menu features starters (the crab rangoons are a must to order), salads, and larger entrees (like tempura orange chicken and Szechuan garlic lobster tails). Diners will find fan-favorite rolls like Spider, Alaska, Rainbow, and Caterpillar alongside more unique offerings. The Crazy Mango and Strawberry Butterfish rolls are hearty, sweet-and-savory standouts. A lighter option, the Lollipop, features fresh sashimi, krab stick, and avocado, all rolled in cucumber and served on a stick, which makes for easy dipping in the accompanying Sriracha-ponzu sauce. For dessert, sink a spoon in the decadent and dreamy chocolate souffle cake, topped with vanilla ice cream and raspberry coulis. To pair, the restaurant features a fantastic cocktail menu, wine, beer and sake options, and even Korean Soju.
Though any dining experience at Rock Lobster will impress, the restaurant recently launched a “Love on the Rocks” Date Night menu. Every Thursday night, couples (or pairs of friends or family) are invited to enjoy one appetizer, two specialty rolls of your choice, and two Rockaritas for $50 per couple. Couples can choose from a list of 10 delicious sushi picks, including a Spicy Chandler, with spicy tuna, spicy crab, avocado, and romaine lettuce wrapped in soy paper and topped with a spicy aioli, and the aforementioned Strawberry Butterfish.
Rock Lobster also offers Rockin’ Happy Hour every Monday to Friday, from open to 6 p.m.; Reverse Happy Hour every Thursday from 8 p.m. to close; and all-day happy hour on Sunday. The restaurant is open Sunday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
