Best described as a delicate and refined interpretation of bold rural Italian flavors housed in chic, modern space that allows one to dress to impress, Fat Ox exploded onto the local culinary scene in 2017 under the leadership of chef and restaurateur Matt Carter and Rochelle Daniel (yes, she is doing double duty here and at Atria). Given its contemporary focus, do not expect traditional chicken parmesan or lasagna here. Instead, delight in course after course of precisely prepared dishes with simple ingredients such as mushrooms, olive oil, anchovies and capers as well as freshly made cheeses and house-prepared pastas small enough to allow for the enjoyment of multiple courses. As authentic behind the bar as in the kitchen, do not miss its cocktails, especially the Italian aperitifs and digestifs and the cocktails with barrel-aged cocktails in house.
