When it opened last year, Tell Your Friends was a welcome addition to the Scottsdale cocktail scene. Now, the sexy underground cocktail and live music lounge has unveiled its first new menu since opening, marking the debut of Beverage Director Ashley Cibor.
Upon the heels of being named “Bar of the Year” by the prestigious Bar & Restaurant Expo Awards, Tell Your Friends has introduced a brand-new cocktail lineup, the first since it opened in Scottsdale last year. The fresh menu is the debut of new beverage director, Ashley Cibor. The former biochemistry major “approaches mixology with scientific curiosity and methodical attention to detail.” Prior to sharing her talents at Tell Your Friends, Cibor spent five years at Phoenix tiki hotspot, UnderTow.
The fresh menu features 10 new additions, from the carrot cake-inspired Decadence in Disguise to the light, refreshing Green With Envy to a pair of savory martinis: The Pepperoncino and The Bleu Cheese. The Velvet Inferno is a lightly spicy stunner, with Corrido Blanco Tequila, Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur, blueberry, sweet pepper, ginger, and lime, while Blazing Bloom, with Gray Whale Gin, aperol, Fever-Tree club soda, apricot, frothy egg white, and lemon, is the perfect springtime sip.
If you like a little fanfare with your scotch, opt for the Jazz Age Smolder. This literal smokeshow features Aberfeldy 12-Year Scotch, Carpano Antica, Averna Amaro, and Angostura orange bitters and comes to the table in a sweet orange smoke-filled safe.
The new cocktails pair beautifully with Tell Your Friends’ food menu, featuring bites both small and large. Opt for the jumbo shrimp cocktail (the perfect partner for a martini), or the hearty TYF wagyu burger topped with candied bacon and cherry pepper aioli, paired with wonderfully crisp fries. The tiramisu Baked Alaska – another new addition to the menu – is a sweet way to end the Tell Your Friends tasting tour.
Tell Your Friends is open Wednesday to Sunday, 5 to 11 p.m., under The Americano (find your way to the hostess stand, and you’ll be escorted to the cocktail lounge).
