The Mission Kierland’s New Cocktail Menu

Sip your way through Latin America at The Mission Kierland in Scottsdale, where Bar Director Christiaan Röllich has just unveiled an entirely new cocktail menu that expands beyond the traditional realm of tequila.

Experience a captivating journey through the flavors of Latin America at The Mission Kierland in Scottsdale, where Bar Director Christiaan Röllich has just introduced a fresh cocktail selection. Röllich, celebrated by Eater LAPeople and The Washington Post, as well as the author of Bar Chef: Handcrafted Cocktails, has curated this enticing menu to showcase an array of vibrant flavors, expanding well beyond the boundaries of tequila-based sips.

These novel libations are a feast for the senses, boasting refined flavor profiles and visually captivating presentations. Among the new favorites is Little Tree, blending vodka, passion fruit, sarsaparilla and turmeric; Mission Martini, a Latin-inspired twist on the classic espresso martini, shaken with Panamanian rum, honey, cinnamon and espresso; Diso Verde, featuring Tequila Blanco, cucumber, arugula and jalapeño; and a Spanish sangria infused with red wine, orange, Crème de Pêche, apricot and brandy, to name a few.

The liquor roster has also undergone a revamp, introducing an array of new options, including rums from Barbados, Jamaica and Guatemala, along with Martinique’s Rhum Agricole, authentic Mexican Aguardiente and Peruvian Pisco. The menu also includes an expanded selection of certified additive-free tequilas, mezcals and agave spirits. These spirits are meticulously crafted without glycerin, colorings, extracts or sugar-based syrups.

“While The Mission will always be known for our margaritas and other agave-based drinks, we really wanted to expand the focus of our cocktail menu to highlight the wide variety of spirits and cocktail cultures throughout Latin America,” Röllich says, in a press release. “Just like our food menu features flavors spanning Central, South American and Latin Caribbean dishes, we’ve expanded our selection of rum-based cocktails and rum-style spirits, including Brazilian Cachaca, Peruvian Pisco and Mexican Aguardiente. And to pair perfectly with Chef Matt Carter’s dishes, we’re incorporating fresh and flavorful ingredients right off the food menu, such as sweet-sour tamarindo, spicy-sweet mole almendrado or beautiful chicha morada (a k a Peruvian purple corn).”
