The VIG to Open in Mesa

The VIG, a neighborhood tavern, prepares to open its first East Valley location this spring. Located in the Village Square at Dana Park, The VIG Dana Park will bring its signature blend of delicious food, craft cocktails, and an inviting atmosphere to the Mesa community.

Since the opening of its first location in Arcadia in 2006, The VIG has expanded across the Valley, bringing its signature hospitality and community-driven approach to each new location. The Mesa restaurant marks the seventh location of this beloved neighborhood tavern.

The VIG Dana Park is a part of Genuine Concepts, a Phoenix-based restaurant group co-founded by Tucker Woodbury and Jim Riley. Known for creating unique, neighborhood-defining spaces, Genuine Concepts operates a collection of popular Valley establishments, including The VIG, The Little Woody, The Womack, Campo Italian Bistro and Bar, and The Genuine.

Designed to reflect the area’s character, The VIG Dana Park will be housed in a custom-built ranch-style space that seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor dining. One of the restaurant’s standout features is its expansive patio, which can accommodate up to 90 guests. Covered by a sun-filtering trellis and surrounded by lush greenery, the patio embodies the classic Arizona front porch experience, a welcoming space to relax, sip, and socialize.

“The VIG has always been known for our fun outdoor spaces where you can eat, sip, and linger, so when it came to our first-ever East Valley location, we knew we wanted a welcoming, ranch house vibe that really honored this classic Mesa neighborhood,” says architect Artie Vigil of ARV3 Design Studio in a press release. “And what’s a better greeting than a spacious, convivial front porch and patio, rather than hiding everything around back.”

Stepping inside, guests will find a thoughtfully designed space that blends modern elegance with rustic charm. The centerpiece of the interior will be a striking copper-topped bar, surrounded by cozy banquette seating and a private dining area that doubles as an event space. Designed in a Mesa Modern style, the restaurant features carbon gray tiles, leather booths, and warm copper accents. The ambiance shifts from bright and airy during the day to moody and intimate at night, thanks to a custom lighting system that combines residential-style floor lamps with soft, romantic spotlights. Adding to the character, the walls are adorned with custom artwork celebrating Mesa’s farming and ranching heritage.

The VIG Dana Park will offer a full-service dining experience, open daily for lunch and dinner, with weekend brunch and a weekday happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. The menu, curated by renowned chef Jeremy Pacheco, will feature fresh and flavorful dishes that have made The VIG a local favorite.
