Toro Scottsdale Reopens at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

Toro Scottsdale at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess by Chef Richard Sandoval recently unveiled a reimagined dining experience. Overlooking the iconic TPC Scottsdale, Toro promises to take guests on a culinary journey through Central and South America, reinterpreted in a modern way.

After an extensive renovation, Toro Scottsdale’s interior sets the tone with sultry textures and moody lighting. From rich leather accents to lush greenery, the revamped interiors feature floor-to-ceiling windows and custom plateware crafted by local artisan Christiane Barbato of Blue Door Ceramics. Outside, the Sunset Bar offers a stunning patio experience with views of the 18th hole, perfect for taking in Arizona’s breathtaking sunsets.

“I’m excited to share this new chapter of Toro Scottsdale with our guests,” says Jack Miller, regional vice president and general manager of the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, in a recent press release. “The dining experience at Toro will represent more than a meal – it will be an event. One that will surprise and delight guests, leaving them excited to return and see what’s next. Toro definitely has something to say, but it might take you a time or two to figure it all out.”

Under the culinary direction of Executive Chef Gage Smit and Chef Richard Sandoval, Toro Scottsdale’s menu delivers sophisticated yet accessible dishes. Drawing inspiration from the culinary traditions of Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, and beyond, the menu celebrates the diversity of Pan-Latin cuisine. Expect unexpected pairings and inventive dishes, including sushi, ceviche, tacos, grass-fed Argentine beef, and tableside dining experiences like the signature La Bomba dessert and churrasco presentations.

“We are excited to share Toro with the Scottsdale community,” says Chef Sandoval, in a recent press release. “Our menu reflects the passion and depth of Latin culinary traditions, interpreted through a contemporary lens.”

Toro’s menu not only highlights the flavors of South America but also honors the global influences that have shaped the region’s cuisine, including Chinese, Japanese, African, and European traditions. The beverage program, led by John Wilhelm, complements the menu with underrepresented South American wines, smoked cocktails, and thoughtful pairing to enhance the dining experience.

For those looking for a memorable celebration, Toro Scottsdale offers private dining experiences. The restaurant can host weddings, corporate events, and celebrations for up to 500 guests, with customizable menus to suit any dietary preferences. Enhancements such as flamenco dancers, cigar rollers, and fireworks can make these events unforgettable.
