Equal parts modern supper club and extravagant alpine lodge, Wren & Wolf is located just steps from PHX Arena and AZ Federal Theater. The sultry cocktail bar and restaurant in the heart of Downtown Phoenix opened in late 2021 and is owned by Teddy and Katie Myers of Pretty Decent Concepts, who continue to bring big-city energy to the local dining scene.
Wren & Wolf is perfect for pre-show drinks, a stylish date night, or brunch with the girls. It also serves an elevated weekend brunch – caviar bumps to start – followed by fried chicken and doughnuts or Dutch iron pancakes, if youāre feeling extra.
Inside, itās all drama in the best way. Deep, shadowy interiors with taxidermy, moody lighting, and grand oil paintings of wolves and pheasants make diners feel as if theyāve wandered into an artful, mysterious hunting lodge that happens to serve killer cocktails. The vibe is rich, cinematic, and a little wild, setting the scene for whatever kind of night youāre in the mood for.
On the food front, everything feels intentional and elevated. Start with the Noble toast or the crispy chicharrĆ³n, topped with chimichurri, each bite layered with bold flavor and texture. The charred bone marrow is pure indulgence. For the main event, the ribeye is a standout, perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. If youāre feeling extra, splurge on the Japanese A5 wagyu, cooked tableside over binchotan charcoal for that smokey, melt-in-your-mouth experience. The wild boar Bolognese is rich and hearty, served over creste di gallo, a ruffled pasta that grabs all that slow-cooked sauce and makes every bite incredible.
The drink menu is organized by vibe, starting “light and flirty,” ending “strong and serious.” The I Love You, But I Love Me More is citrusy and dangerously drinkable. If you like a little heat, the Shishito Out of Luck with tequila delivers. The Bramble Spice Delight is shaken tableside in a vintage champion shaker and may be Wren & Wolf’s most Instagrammable cocktail.
Wren & Wolf is open Monday to Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, 4 to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, 4 to 9 p.m. Brunch is served on weekends, and happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. Pretty Decent Concepts also heads up sister cocktail concepts, Trophy Room and Carry On, for pre- or post-dinner sips in Downtown Phoenix.
