Founded in honor of Tasha Vatistas, a new Valley nonprofit event, Team Tasha, is kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness Month by raising funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Through Oct. 3, Team Tasha invites participants to fundraise by enjoying their favorite sports, in-person or virtually.
Team Tasha was founded in support of Tasha Vatistas, the co-owner of local luxury real estate firm Launch Real Estate. After two previous breast cancer diagnoses and remissions, Vatistas was found to have stage four triple-negative breast cancer earlier this year.
To kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Team Tasha asks participants to fundraise by doing their favorite sports activity—whether it be a game of soccer with a kids or running the Grand Canyon—now through Oct. 3. Funds will support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), which is the highest-rated breast cancer organization in the United States.
Team Tasha had an original fundraising goal of $50,000; after already surpassing that target, the goal is now set at $100,000.
