Wedding Planning: 2018 Wedding Trends

Award Winning Event and Wedding Planner Nicole Arend is sharing her wedding knowledge and expertise with us every month.

If you are planning a wedding in 2018, be prepared for some new bold and dramatic colors, unique textures and unexpected uses of the design of traditional centerpieces.

Like in the past few years barns and beautiful outdoor receptions have been a huge trend, in the upcoming year you will start seeing weddings being hosted indoors. Think museums, industrial, loft spaces and even rooftops.

2016 and 2017 were all about using soft pinks and blush and lots of greenery but this year lets think dark and moody. It’s going to be all about using flowers that are darker, detailed and textured.

And speaking of texture! Using lots of texture throughout the decor of the wedding is will be huge. We are loving the look of textured linens- think laser-cut overlays or linens with big and bold prints and colors!

Candles will always be in when it comes to your centerpieces, I love the idea to add additional color to your tablescape by using colored candles. It’s easy way to add something unexpected to your decor.

We love when our couples allow us to bring out their creativity and personality at the reception and one of our favorite ways to welcome guests into the reception is by creating a unique seating display. Whether you getting married at a museum or a country club adding a touch of personality allows your guests to feel like they are getting to know you more! And 2018 will be the year when every couple will be showing off their creative ideas when it comes to seating displays!

No matter what your style is, we are here to help bring all of your ideas together to make them come together beautifully!
