Comedian KT Tatara is performing June 8-9 at Stand Up, Scottsdale! Comedy Club. Check out Fab AZ’s exclusive interview with KT Tatara:
Q: Where are you from?
A: Originally from Northern Virginia, just outside D.C., but I’ve lived in Los Angeles almost 9 years.
Q: How long have you been doing comedy?
A: 10 years
Q: How was your first gig? Was it immediately gratifying, or did you bomb at first?
A: It was cool, I got some laughs. I didn’t bomb but I didn’t kill either. I knew right away thought that stand up is what I wanted to make a career of.
Q: What can comedy goers expect from you at Stand-Up, Scottsdale! this weekend?
A: They can expect some things they havent heard before as I have different things to say about topics like race, gender roles and relationships, as well as some funny personal stories.
Q: What is the source of inspiration for your comedy?
A: Just trying to fit in somewhere I guess. haha
Q: How do you keep yourself busy while on tour/traveling/performing?
A: Twitter and the gym.
Q: What has been your memorable comedy milestones so far?
A: Performing on Comedy Central and Showtime and doing an episode of How I Met Your Mother where I got to meet and work with some big stars.
Q: If you could receive a sext from one politician, one athlete, and one movie star, who would they be?
A: Italy’s Maria Carfagna, Gymnast Alicia Sacramone and Jordana Brewster.
Q: If you could buy one thing for everybody in the country, what would it be?
A: A smarter brain.
Q: What’s an interesting fact that people wouldn’t know about you?
A: I was a music major in college, played the trombone.
