The Nest Haunted House (Chandler)

The Nest returns for 2010 at a new and improved location. Guests begin their Nightmare on Rawhide’s Main Street with a “Monster Midway” where they will be greeted by freakish characters that freely roam the grounds. The Midway will also feature concessions, beer, photo opportunities, things for the little ones and stunt shows (Main Street activities are an additional fee). Then victims will journey to the 55,000 square foot pavilion with haunted attractions. For 2010 over $250,000 of props and special effects have been added.

Boo! at the Zoo (Phoenix)

Boo! at the Zoo is an event at the Phoenix Zoo designed for children ages 7 and under.

Boo! at the Zoo guests can explore Harmony Farm as it’s transformed into a fall-festival including games and activities, watch elephants, tortoises, monkeys and other animals enjoy pumpkins and other treats during the Pumpkin Stomp and Chomp throughout the Zoo and more.

Howl-O-Ween at the Phoenix Zoo (Phoenix)

Howl-O-Ween at the Phoenix Zoo is an event designed for guests ages 8 and up that takes place October 29 & 30.

Howl-O-Ween will offer a variety of activities that cater to both the brave and the not so brave. All activities will be broken down into 1 of 3 scare levels, Scare Level 1 being the least scary and Scare Level 3 being the scariest. Please note that Scare Level 3 activities are intended and were created to be terrifying.

MacDonald’s Ranch Pumpkin Patch (Scottsdale)

MacDonald’s Ranch Pumpkin Patch features a petting zoo, hay maze, sack racing, a gem mine, western golf game and two horseshoe pits. Guests can enjoy a horse or mule drawn hay ride to and from the pumpkin patch. Pony rides are available as well. The entrance fee is $7 per person and pumpkins are between $3 and $12. You may bring your own sack lunch.

Arizona Halloween Music Festival (Scottsdale)

The 2nd Annual Arizona Halloween Music Festival, benefiting the Arizona Animal Welfare League & SPCA, is an adoption day, sponsorship and foster care drive and raffle. This free family-friendly (including dogs) event will be held Saturday, October 30th from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Versus Sports Grill in Scottsdale. The festivities will continue at Versus Sports Grill with happy hour specials from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and an animal-themed costume ball from 8:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

Buckelew Farm Pumpkin Festival (Tucson)

The Pumpkin Festival at Buckelew Farm in Tucson appeals to all ages. The festival features a tractor-drawn wagon ride into the field to pick your own pumpkin and a corn maze that will challenge the adventuresome. Gate opens at 10:00 a.m. with $4 per person admission (children in diapers are free). Admission includes tractor-drawn wagon rides to and from the pumpkin patch. Pumpkins are 45 cents per pound. Additional festivities of the day include the 11-acre corn maze, arts & crafts tent, festival games, 4-H petting zoo and the pedal cart race track. In addition to Pumpkin Festival dates below, Friday & Saturday nights the last 4 weekends in October there is a Corn Maze with flashlights, and the Terror In The Corn (Haunted Cornfield) which is intended for teens and adults.
