We’re celebrating National Dog Day (August 26) by embarking on the adventures to be shared with your furry canine friend. Whether you’re an Arizona local or visiting from out of town, Arizona Office of Tourism has rounded up eight pet-friendly activities, from Tucson to Flagstaff and everywhere in between.
“There are several exciting opportunities to bring your beloved canines with you during your next Arizona vacation,” says Debbie Johnson, Director of the Arizona Office of Tourism. “With numerous pet-friendly restaurants and hotels to choose from, it’s easy to plan a trip so a four-legged friend can tag along!”

Although the breakfast and lunch menu at Morning Squeeze is utterly delicious, it’s the “Tail Wagger” menu that is sure to please the pups. The dog-friendly dish named the Chow Hound combines softly scrambled eggs with diced lean chicken breast. For dessert, your furry companion is sure to enjoy the homemade peanut butter doggie biscuits. With restaurants in Scottsdale and Tempe (and a third location coming soon to downtown Phoenix), you won’t want to miss a meal here with your four-legged friend!

With several locations throughout the greater Phoenix area, O.H.S.O. welcomes dogs to frolic in designated play areas, complete with seating so you can kick back and relax with your pup. Sip on craft brew while your dog drinks from the Barking Bar, a doggie water fountain built like a beer tap. Don’t forget to snag a few of those tasty treats on your way out.
Experience small town charm with your pup at the Old Bisbee Brewing Company. Pup-friendly accommodations never looked so good than at this boutique hotel nestled in the Santa Catalina Mountain foothills of Tucson. Select the Pooch Package so your pup can munch on treats as well as tackle a new toy during your stay. The welcoming dog-loving staff at La Posada also offers an extensive list of nearby dog parks, doggie daycares and groomers so your pet can be just as pampered as you are during your stay.
Surrounded by national forest, Arizona Mountain Inn is a pet-friendly paradise within the Ponderosa pines of Flagstaff.
