What is a Vampire Facial?

You may have heard of it from your friends or seen the Kardashians’ doing it, but the Vampire Facial has become one of the newest and most popular ways to revitalize your face and get glowing skin.

So what exactly is a Vampire Facial? It sounds scary, but it really isn’t! The Vampire Facial is really just a type of MicroNeedling treatment. MicroNeedling uses a device with fine needles that creates tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin, creating “controlled injury” to the skin that triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin, a key part of our skin that begins to reduce as we age. Through this MicroNeedling, we are boosting our own skin’s healing power and getting stronger from the inside out.

The reason why this particular procedure earned its nickname, the Vampire Facial, is this treatment uses platelet rich plasma (PRP) from the patient’s own blood and the plasma (not red) part of the blood instead of a manmade serum/solution. This plasma can also be injected into areas of volume loss in the face. PRP contains a high concentration of the body’s growth factors.

The results of the Vampire Facial can include improvement to the overall complexion, texture and firmness of the skin and a reduction in scars, pore size, age spots and stretch marks.

For best results, a series of 3 treatments should be done at least 4 weeks apart.

Fabulous Arizona founder Cynthia Sassi was struggling with acne scarring. A series of 3 treatments had a tremendous impact on reducing the scarring and hyperpigmentation.
