2021 Valley Art and Culinary Classes

Do you have a resolution to pursue painting or be a better cook in the new year? Kick off 2021 with these can’t-miss Valley classes that promise a good (and safe!) time alongside new skills.

Mimosa & Monet Art Class Series at The Hermosa Inn

How does the lushly landscaped patio of The Hermosa Inn sound for a classroom? During the Mimosa & Monet Art Class Series with artist-in-residence, Carrie Curran, guests get to enjoy morning of mimosas and entertaining art instruction for art beginners and experts alike.

Curran, of Carrie Curran Art Studios, teaches, inspires and guides guests on an artistic journey while using acrylic on canvas to create their very own masterpiece.

Mimosa & Monet is a series of classes held monthly, with the next class taking place Jan. 23 and will run through May, on Saturday mornings, from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Class fee is $85 per person and includes instruction, tax and gratuity, all supplies, pastries, coffee and the first mimosa.

Extend the great vibes of this creative class with a celebratory brunch at LONā€™s and enjoy either a complimentary appetizer or cocktail, with the purchase of one brunch entrĆ©e. Vouchers will be presented at the class/limit one per person. Reservations are recommended.

Marcellino Ristorante Learn & Lunch Cooking Classes  

In the new year, Chef Marcellino Verzino and his wife Sima of Scottsdale’s Marcellino Ristorante kick off the new year with monthly Learn & Lunch cooking classes.

Learn & Lunch Cooking Class: Minestrone with Crostini

Saturday, Jan. 16 from 1 to 3 p.m.Ā 

Chef Marcellino will demonstrate cooking Minestrone with Crostini ā€“ an Italian classic! This hearty winter soup is created with fresh vegetables, toasted Italian bread points and parmigiano. After the class, guests will enjoy a delectable lunch of Chefā€™s dish, a fresh organic salad, and Chef Marcellinoā€™s delicious biscotti. The cost is $50 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Seating is limited, and reservations are required. 

Learn & Lunch Cooking Class: Gnocchi Sorrentina 

Saturday, Feb. 20 from 1 to 3 p.m.Ā Ā 

Just in time for Valentineā€™s Day weekend, Chef Marcellino will teach participants to cook a dish everyone loves: Gnocchi Sorrentina. This blissful dish features light purple potato, pasta, and parmigiana orbs in a creamy gorgonzola sauce. After the class, guests will enjoy a delectable lunch of Chefā€™s dish, a fresh organic salad, and Chef Marcellinoā€™s delicious biscotti. The cost is $50 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Seating is limited, and reservations are required. 

Learn & Lunch Cooking Class: Risotto with Mixed Mushrooms 

Saturday, March 20 from 1 to 3 p.m.Ā 

Chef Marcellino will teach participants how to cook risotto with mixed mushrooms, a creamy risotto with a sautĆ© of mixed mushrooms. After the class, guests will enjoy a delectable lunch of Chefā€™s dish, a fresh organic salad, and Chef Marcellinoā€™s delicious biscotti. The cost is $50 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Seating is limited, and reservations are required. 

Learn & Lunch Cooking Class: Ravioli 

Saturday, April 17Ā from 1 to 3 p.m.Ā 

This delicious pasta is filled with fresh spinach and creamy ricotta cheese, topped with sweet butter and fresh sage. After the class, guests will enjoy a delectable lunch of Chefā€™s dish, a fresh organic salad, and Chef Marcellinoā€™s delicious biscotti. The cost is $50 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Seating is limited, and reservations are required. 

Learn & Lunch Cooking Class: Pollo Saporito 

Saturday, May 15 from 1 to 3 p.m.Ā 

Chef Marcellino will teach participants how to cook Pollo Saporito, which are tender pieces of white meat chicken sautĆ©ed with mushrooms, pine nuts and sun-dried tomato in a touch of fresh tomato sauce. After the class, guests will enjoy a delectable lunch of Chefā€™s dish, a fresh organic salad, and Chef Marcellinoā€™s delicious biscotti. The cost is $50 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Seating is limited, and reservations are required.

Saturday, June 19 from 1 to 3 p.m.Ā 

Chef Marcellino will teach participants how to cook Pasta Ghiottona, featuring Chefā€™s hand-crafted pasta with EVO, onion, zucchini and pancetta. After the class, guests will enjoy a delectable lunch of Chefā€™s dish, a fresh organic salad, and Chef Marcellinoā€™s delicious biscotti. The cost is $50 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Seating is limited, and reservations are required.
