Mood Botanics Is Defining A New Age of Sensory-Driven Wellness

Skincare is all the rage right now—and for good reason. Between informative Tik Tok videos and dermatologist-created Instagram reels, knowledge on skin-related tips, tricks and top products has literally never been more accessible. With so many products on the market though, it can be difficult to know which items are actually worth the monetary investment. But thanks to two Valley-based business women and their own beauty line known as Mood Botanics, the skincare industry might soon see a much needed makeover.

With the repetition of products becoming more redundant—often losing their quality and effectiveness in the process—Ginalyn McNamara and Lindsay Cruz decided they wanted to input their own spin on what skincare should look and feel like. With extensive experience in marketing and brand strategy development, the women felt it was time to invest the same energy and expertise into a project of their own—more specifically, Mood Botanics.

“This is definitely a product we’ve spent time perfecting. We know this stuff takes time, but we are extremely confident in the product,” says Cruz.

The concept for the brand came at the conclusion of 2019, and inspired the duo to begin collaborating with industry chemists to craft face oils that were organic, non-toxic, cruelty-free, paraben-free, and best of all, completely effective.

As a result, the brand’s two most unique products were born—the AM and PM Face Oils. 

The face oils aim to act as normal skincare products that also lean into wellness-focused approaches and elements—imagine all of the best parts of a spa facial wrapped up into a convenient, travel-sized bottle that can be enjoyed in the comforts of your own home.

“When we formulated this product it took us quite a bit of time because we really wanted to create something that was at least 99 percent natural—you know, a lot of products nowadays, they say that they’re 100 percent natural and that’s not even true,” says McNamara “With these products, it feels amazing because we can really truly stand behind what the ingredients in the formulas are since it took us a long time to perfect them.”

The AM face Oil works as an acne-fighting solution which wakes the skin up via pink grapefruit and eucalyptus essential oil extracts. The serum is specially formulated with dual tiers of botanicals, B Vitamins, essential oils and even caffeine, all of which combat acne-causing bacteria and improve the appearance of skin through collagen-promotion. Thanks to its dual tier base, the solution even resembles a mini lava lamp—cute and visually-calming!

The PM Face Oil is focused on rejuvenation, and works to relax the skin through natural rose-hip oil. The serum is formulated with anti-aging properties that help to repair fatigued skin cells and promote bright, radiant skin. 

Since its inception, Mood Botanics has evolved into a full-fledged business which produces USA-made products that seamlessly blend sensory wellness elements with that of clean, skin-perfecting chemicals. “The funny thing is we never really set out to do skincare.
