What to Wear to Spring Training

Arguably the best time of year in Arizona is the Cactus League Spring Training Season. The weather is nearly perfect in March and whether you’re a baseball fan or not, there is just something about enjoying ballpark food and drinks in the sun that almost everyone enjoys. If you’re wondering what to wear to a spring training game in Arizona, we have everything you need to ensure you’re impeccably dressed for every inning. Read on for practical considerations and style tips that merge fashion and functionality for a day out at a spring training baseball game.

Comfortable Shoes: You’ll likely be doing a fair amount of walking at any of the ballparks, so wearing comfortable shoes to spring training games is ideal. Sandals, wedges, or sneakers are great options for both function and style.

Layers: While most days in March will offer beautiful weather with sunshine and mild temperatures, layers are always ideal so you can be warm if it gets chilly in the shade or take a jacket off as it warms up in the sun.

Shorts: Shorts are ideal for both men and women at a spring training game in Arizona. It will likely be too warm for pants, and if you’re sitting on the lawn, you will want to avoid a skirt.

Clear Bags: Spring training now has the same bag rules as many other major sporting events. Most ballparks allow small bags the size of a clutch (5-by-9-by-2 inches). Anything larger–but cannot exceed a maximum size (usually 16-by-16-by-8 inches)–needs to be in a clear bag. Locally owned Alixandra Collections offers a selection of fashionable clear bags that will meet the bag policies to complement your outfit.

Hats & Sunglasses: For both function and style, wearing a hat and/or sunglasses will not only complete your outfit but also protect your eyes from the sun. Especially if you are sitting on the lawn, there will be little to no shade.
