Restaurant of the Week: Kasai Scottsdale

Kasai Scottsdale—the Valley’s premier Japanese steakhouse—is an Asian cuisine-focused experience that celebrates teppanyaki-style dining through sushi and Asian fusion.

Kasai strikes the perfect balance between serving unique dishes of the highest quality, and blending Asian fare with a “dinnertainment” experience that offers a glimpse into the art of teppanyaki.

Visitors can appreciate the technique and strategy behind some of Kasai’s most beloved creations up-close, as talented teppan chefs take to the tables to prepare seven-course meals that serve up fresh, flavorful fare along with a vibrant, fire-filled experience to complement it.

Among some of our favorite dishes outside of teppanyaki mainstays like the shrimp and calamari steak combination, are the Chicken Gyoza paired with sesame chili sauce, and the Misoyaki Black Cod accented by eel sauce and togarashi butter.

Beyond authentic sushi and teppanyaki fare, Kasai’s menu also features signature drinks standouts like the Violet Solstice, made with Hendricks Mid-Summer Solstice Gin, Crème de Violette and fresh lemon juice or The P. King cocktail—created in honor of original owner Patrick King—which is made with Toki Japanese whiskey, lychee liqueur, fresh lime juice and a dash of bitters.

In response to COVID-19, Kasai has added four additional hoodless teppanyaki tables, totaling 14 teppan tables throughout the restaurant space. Now, with the addition of the four hoodless tables, teppanyaki is the sole focal point of the dining room—and the fire and fun can now be seen throughout the entire restaurant.

Kasai Japanese Steakhouse is open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday. The restaurant is closed on Mondays. For more information, visit www.kasaiscottsdale.com.
