Backyard, a popular indoor/outdoor bar and grill, is set to open its second Valley location in Gilbert this fall. Known for interactive games, massive TV’s and refined bar food, Backyard promises to bring an elevated entertainment and dining experience to the community.
The new Backyard location will replace Sandbar Mexican Grill in Gilbert and joins Backyard’s year-old North Phoenix location. The grand opening is scheduled to coincide with the NFL season’s kickoff in the first week of September. The opening follows the launch of Evening Entertainment Group’s new bar concept, Mother Trucker’s Tavern, in Old Town Scottsdale on Labor Day weekend.
Backyard Gilbert offers a unique indoor/outdoor experience with walls that open to the outdoors, allowing guests to enjoy al fresco vibes year-round. The menu features a variety of scratch kitchen favorites, including nachos, smash burgers, flatbreads, homemade meatloaf and turkey pot pie. Additionally, the extensive beverage selection includes local and national craft beers, curated cocktails and wine available by the bottle and glass.

Entertainment is a core aspect of Backyard Gilbert, featuring 18-ft.-by-10-ft. LED screens that can showcase multiple games simultaneously, completed by a state-of-the-art sound and light system, a built-in stage for live music and interactive games like pop-a-shot and cornhole.
At night, Backyard Gilbert transforms into a lively bar scene within the climate-controlled indoor/outdoor space. Guests can expect to enjoy DJs, drink specials and the fun ambiance that Evening Entertainment Group has perfected over the years.
