Build It–Only at Arizona Science Center 02

Arizona Science Center Opens Summer-Friendly Exhibits

Arizona parents have two requirements for summer activities for their children: it must be air-conditioned and educational. Arizona Science Center‘s exhibition calendar checks all the boxes with its trio of fun summer exhibits.

Arizona Science Center’s newest exhibit, Build It!, lets guests’ imaginations run wild, inviting them to build and design with a variety of materials–from LEGO to cardboard to jumbo building blocks. This hands-on limited-time engagement runs through Jan. 17 and requires general admission ticket plus additional ticket.

Another hands-on exhibit, POP! The Science of Bubbles, takes on math and science concepts including elasticity, surface tension, evaporation and geometry. The exhibit allows visitors to create bubbles with wands of all shapes and sizes, with a massive bubble dropping every 15 to 20 minutes.

And for those who dare, The Art and Science of Arachnids features three different themed “cubes,” holding a total of 100 live arachnids. Families have the chance to explore everything pertaining to these eight-legged creatures, from their scientific significance to their role in art and culture. The Art and Science of Arachnids is available through Jan. 2.

For those headed to Arizona Science Center this summer, as a Blue Star Museum it grants free general admission to active duty personnel and up to five family members through Labor Day. Valid identification is required.
