Labor Day Weekend will work overtime at W Scottsdale this year. The hotel will host a nonstop roster of live entertainment and the industry’s hottest female DJ’s who will spin an epic summer sendoff. Maya Day + Nightclub, the high-energy entertainment venue in Scottsdale, will kick off Labor Day Weekend with Skrillex on Saturday, September 5, with doors opening at 12pm. Sunday, September 6, the Labor Day celebrations continue with Headhunterz with doors opening at noon.

This Labor Day Weekend, partygoers are invited to soak in the sun over the last holiday weekend of the summer on the third floor pool deck of LUSTRE Bar. The pool opens at 11am Saturday, Sept. 5 through Monday, Sept. 7, with a $10 entrance fee for non-hotel guests (free entry if you show your UBER receipt). A guest DJ will spin tunes from 2pm – 6pm and 8pm until midnight on Sept. 5, from 2pm – 6pm on Sept. 6 and 1pm -5pm on Sept. 7. Activities such as table tennis, cornhole and champong (a Fab AZ favorite!) are available for unlimited fun in the sun. Phoenix Cooks

Phoenix Cooks, one of the biggest annual food events in the Phoenix area, returns for its 11th year on September 5, 2015, 10am -3pm at Westin Kierland in Scottsdale. For one day, the Valley’s best chefs convene to share a variety of tasty dishes for attendees to sample to benefit Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Admission includes unlimited food, wine, beer and spirit samplings throughout the day. Tickets are $85 General Admission in advance, $100 at the door and $60 for Designated Drivers.

Livewire

Detroit rapper and lyricist, Deja Trimble, a.k.a. DeJ Loaf, will perform at Livewire on Friday, September 4, doors opening at 8pm. Dej Loaf has released four mixtapes, signed with Columbia Records and peaked at number 45 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, all since the start of her career in 2011. She has gained the recognition of big names in the rap and hip-hop industry including the likes of Drake and Eminem. Her latest EP, World Champions, was released earlier this year.

Streetside BBQ

Bad Water Brewing is hosting the first annual Scottsdale Streetside BBQ on Saturday, September 5, 2015, 4-10pm in Old Town Scottsdale. Held in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale near Bad Water Brewing’s Tap Room, this 21 and over event will feature live music, food and beverages from local vendors, outdoor lawn-style games, plus a TV tent for cheering on ASU in its first season game against Texas A&M. Admission to the event is only $10, and food and beverages are an additional cost.
