Fabulous People: Mike Pask

Mike Pask is the director of Multi-Family Housing at Tempe-based CHASSE Building Team, where he oversees such notable projects as the recently completed NOVEL Midtown Phoenix, Union on 6th and Mercer on Fillmore, which slated for completion in early 2022. Learn about Mike Pask…

Hometown: Fort Collins, Colorado.

First job: Conley’s Office Supply in Colorado.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in Arizona: Golf, cycling, hiking and relaxing by the pool. We moved to Phoenix from Denver three years ago and absolutely love the weather…even the summers!

Your biggest accomplishment and why: Raising our two boys and watching them grow into the men they are today. We had children fairly young by today’s standards, basically kids raising kids. We did good!

The biggest obstacle you have overcome: Learning that perfection is unattainable and embracing the value and wisdom that comes with making mistakes.

Someone who inspires you and why: My dad. He began working full-time as teenager until he retired about five years ago. He was not able to go to college and, as a result, he believed he had to work harder than everyone around him to get ahead. I have no doubt that he did. He taught me the value of hard work, treating others with respect and the true meaning of leadership.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Be patient. Commercial construction is a highly rewarding but challenging profession. There is something new to learn from every project and the people you will be working and building relationships with. Patience is the key – building upon your knowledge and experience takes time. Be humble and understand that no one has it all figured out.

Favorite quote: “If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.” –Mark Twain

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I was a terrible student. I attended Colorado State University and struggled to find an interest in any of my classes. I nearly dropped out before I discovered the Construction Management program. I took a few of those classes and ultimately found my calling.

What makes someone fabulous in your own words: Someone who is genuine, self-aware and has a passion to support others’ goals and dreams.
