Dad to: Ayla, 12, and Karya, 9

Hometown: I’m originally from Waterbury, Conn. Moved to New York City in my early 20s and lived there for 27 years. Now, I call Scottsdale my home.

Favorite ways to spend family time in AZ: One of my favorite things to do is dropping the girls off at school in the morning. I cherish those moments of spending time together just laughing and joking around. We love watching movies, playing volleyball, lounging by the pool, and trying out new restaurants together.

Most rewarding fatherhood moment: There are too many to name, but my fondest memories are of situations when the girls are simply having a great time, or when they have done something to surprise themselves. They have added a richness and a deep love to my life that I never knew would happen.

Biggest challenge as a dad: Letting go. Watching them grow and change and have different ideas than how I grew up – it’s incredibly wonderful to experience while simultaneously being nostalgic and loving.

A father who inspires you and why: There is no particular person. For me, anyone who can relate to the addition of having children in their lives is a person I respect. They say that “no matter the question…love is the answer.” Having my own children made me truly understand that phrase.

Best piece of advice for a new dad: Just love them. Be selfless. Listen to them when they talk. Be the person they want to share things with. I try not to pass any judgement, but rather point them in the right direction. Teach them respect for everything and everyone.

Biggest hope for your children: To always be fun and creative and find something you love to do. Don’t let the stresses of life hide the joys that you cherish. Be yourself and find the people who love who you are and appreciate you…and love and appreciate them back.

How are you celebrating Father’s Day? No idea yet, but I’m sure we will be eating something delicious, and I’ll be telling them dad jokes!
