Favorite ways to spend family time in AZ: Being raised in the Valley, I’ve always been an enormous fan of Arizona sports teams. It’s safe to say the tradition has been passed down to my boys. We’ve been Cardinals’ season ticket holders for years and love going to every game we can together. When we’re not in the stands, you’ll find me coaching all three of my sons’ sports leagues. From flag football to baseball and soccer, they pretty much play any sport you can think of year-round. Off the field, my wife and I place a huge importance on eating dinner together and spending time as a family. I love cooking and sharing that time with my boys after a long day.

Your most rewarding fatherhood moment: My oldest son, Jack, was just accepted into the Gifted Specialists program at school. Only three percent of students are enrolled in this program across the nation, so it’s an incredible accomplishment. And while I’m undeniably proud, it’s been most rewarding for me as a father to watch him work hard and learn the mathematical and reading skills that got him to this point. He’s proven to have an incredible work ethic, and I can’t wait to see and support the path he chooses in life.

Biggest challenge as a dad: I would say time management. Being a business owner is extremely rewarding but can also be taxing. For me, prioritizing family time is the most important and the key for me to be successful in other areas of my life.

A father who inspires you and why: Without question, my dad. He taught my brothers and I the importance of being loyal and working hard. I credit those lessons for my successes and plan to instill the same in my boys.

Best piece of advice for a new dad: The biggest advice I have for a new dad is to have patience. Not just for your new child and wife, but for yourself. There’s a ton of change happening, and you don’t need to know the answers for everything all at once. Just know that while this time may seem (and is) really challenging, being a dad is the most fun and most fulfilling job you’ll ever have. Also, you will get to sleep again at some point.

Your biggest hope for your children: That they all find their individual happiness. I want them to grow up to be independent, hardworking and enjoy where life has taken them.

How are you celebrating Father’s Day? I’ll be in Flagstaff, spending time with my wife and kids as well as my brothers and their families. I can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be.
