Fab Educator: Bryan Palmaioli

Meet Bryan Palmaioli, a third-grade teacher at Francis Brandon-Pickett Elementary in Queen Creek. The new dad is a former special education teacher and also coaches fitness classes for those with special needs.

How long have you been teaching? Eight years.

What inspired you to be a teacher? In high school, I had some really good teachers that were passionate about what they did. They were some of the best I had, and they really helped students achieve their fullest potential. I saw that and that’s what I wanted to do.

What is your greatest joy in teaching? I really enjoy watching the students grow from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. They come into the year with all this great potential and when they are ready to move on to the next grade, I enjoy looking back and seeing their growth.

What about your greatest challenge? My biggest challenge is always making sure that every student is getting exactly what they need. Every child learns differently and, as teachers, we need to make sure that we meet their needs to have them rise to their greatest potential.

If a student can have only one takeaway from time spent in your classroom, what would it be? That no matter what adversity they face, they can overcome it.
