Each week we will be highlighting one of the fabulous emerging designers from Phoenix Fashion Week 2019. This week, meet Sarah Christie, the designer of Sarah Christie, designing premium outerwear for the modern women.

Hometown: Washington D.C but currently living La Paz, Bolivia

What is unique about your brand: What makes my brand unique is my baby alpaca wool that I use for all my garments and the pattern lining that gives the garment something extra. 

What is your brand’s style: My brand style is modern and sophisticated

What footprint/legacy will your brand leave the world with: Exclusivity

First fashion job: When did you know you had a passion for fashion: When I first started watching Project Runway, I was 17 years old. I just loved the way designer created their designs and shopping for different fabrics and creating a garment from nothing.

Person who has impacted your FASHION life the most: My grandma, she has been my rock through all of my career and college when no one else would believe I can become a designer.

Your biggest fashion accomplishment (SO FAR) in your eyes: Getting asked to participate in this fashion show.

The biggest FASHION obstacle you have overcome: Defiantly, meeting up with clients and pleasing them with their garments.

A designer who inspires you: Coco Chanel, she had changed the fashion for women and empowering them.

Favorite quote: “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” – Coco Chanel

Advice to someone pursuing a career in fashion as a designer: Never second-guess yourself because at the end your designs show who you are as a designer.  

How has the Phoenix Fashion Week #DesignerBootcamp impacted your brand? I have gotten lots of positive responses on my garments about the high quality and material. I have learned a lot how to market my brand.

What can fans expect to see from your collection in October: Fans can expect to see from my collection will be clean lines and sophisticated style.
