Hometown: Cedaredge, Colorado

First job: My first job was working as a waitress at a Pizza Hut near my hometown at the age of 16.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in AZ: I love the outdoors and, being newer to Arizona, I love to explore more areas of Arizona and see the beauty this state has to offer. Traveling is a huge passion of mine, and I make it a priority to take two or three international trips a year.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: Graduating from nursing school at the top of my class is one of my proudest accomplishments. I have been fortunate to have a career that provided me with the opportunity to help a variety of people. I created many personal relationships with my patients and families and that is invaluable. Starting my own business was a very personal and proud moment in my life. To create my business from nothing and continue to help people in a completely different way felt wonderful. At the end of the day, my goal is to impact my customer’s life and give them a space they love. One of the most satisfying facets of being a professional organizer is helping people live their best life by creating functional and efficient spaces.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: I have always lived an active lifestyle and that has presented me with a handful of sports-related injuries and six knee surgeries by the age of 30. These injuries have created obstacles and have required me to adjust my lifestyle both personally and professionally. Not only have they challenged me on a physical level but these injuries taught me the value of acceptance and perseverance. Learning the importance of hard work and determination helped to shape my outlook on life.

Someone who inspires you and why: My father is probably my biggest inspiration. He has created his business from the ground up by himself. He has shown me what hard work truly looks like and how to run a successful business. He instilled a hard work ethic in me from an early age and encouraged me to constantly keep learning and challenging myself.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Customer relations are a huge part of this profession. People are inviting you into their homes and offices so take the time to learn about them and their needs. Providing a customized and personal service can make the biggest difference. Quality customer service can be hard to find so being responsive, respectful and timely can make you stand out among the masses.

Favorite quote: “Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I have been a critical care nurse working in neonatal and pediatric critical care for 10 years. I am actively working as a neonatal flight nurse for a medical transport team here in Arizona. I love both of of my careers and can’t imagine my life without either one. It’s amazing how much organizational skills have come into play in my nursing career.

What makes someone fabulous: Kindness, honesty and integrity. How people treat others says a lot about who they are and the standards they hold.
