Serving up fresh and modern Mediterranean dishes since 2009, Taverna Flagstaff is a neighborhood favorite for both locals and tourists alike.
Taverna is bright, modern and inviting, with a bar to grab a drink and catch a game, and a large dining room with cozy booths that can provide an intimate date night, and large tables that can accommodate a family gathering. The Flagstaff restaurant also offers space that can accommodate large parties, rehearsal dinners or any other special occasions.
To start your meal at Taverna, you must order the saganaki. This classic Greek dish is a flambéed kefalotyri cheese served with lemon and pita. The bacon-wrapped dates, dolmades, hummus and spanakopita are some notable starters as well.
The pasta dishes are all fantastic for entrees, with the baked fusilloni and vodka penne being our must-try dishes. The wood-fired pizzas are a great shareable option as well. For a traditional Greek entree, you can’t go wrong with Souvlaki, a popular Greek meal consisting of small pieces of meat and sometimes vegetables grilled on a skewer. At Taverna, you can choose between chicken, steak or both. This hearty dish is served with lemon roasted potatoes, pita, tzatziki sauce and Greek salad.
The bowls at Taverna are very popular as well, consisting of a base of Mediterranean rice topped with marinated cucumber, cherry tomato, cabbage slaw, feta crumbles and three sauces: cool tzatziki, spicy Yemeni skhug and Tunisian harissa.
We highly recommend saving room for dessert. Options include New York cheesecake, chocolate torte or house-made baklava.
In addition to a great selection of beer and wine, Taverna Flagstaff also offers delicious craft cocktails. The Birthday Suit is a fun and refreshing cocktail made with Hanson organic cucumber vodka, white
peach, lemon and soda.
Taverna Flagstaff is open daily for lunch and dinner, offering happy hour 3 to 6 p.m. every day. For more information and to see the full menu, visit tavernaflagstaff.com.
