Flagstaff’s Americana Motor Hotel

Flagstaff is an adored year-round destination, yet wintertime presents even more reasons to pay the town a visit. Whether you’re checking out some of the stunning holiday events in Northern Arizona, craving a snowy respite or a local looking for a seasonal staycation, the newly reopened Americana Motor Hotel is just the spot to stay (and play).

This stylish retreat–located just off of Route 66–opened over the summer after an extensive renovation and rebrand by Practice Hospitality. Americana Motor Hotel has served as a Flagstaff landmark since the 1960’s, and its refresh touched on all aspects of the 89-room hotel. Now boasting a retro-futuristic design by Andrew Alford, the hotel is bursting with color, nostalgia and plenty to see and do for the entire family (pets included–and there’s no additional fee for them to tag along with the human guests).

How many hotel rooms have you visited with a glittering disco ball hanging from the ceiling? Guests of Americana Motor Hotel can now count as least one. Cute, quirky touches–such as the disco ball–fill the renovated rooms, which are available in Full, Queen or Two Queen. Each space has plush beds (with a noon check-out, there is even more time to get some extra r-n-r), a brand-new walk-in shower, in-room coffee pots and refrigerators, quality linens, brightly hued armchairs and 55-in. TVs. Plus, the headboards are inspired by vintage ski wear.

The same laidback luxury extends to the lobby. The space–which welcomes guests once they walk by the resident astronaut statue (and photo opp!) standing outside–is decked with comfy couches, board games, a TV, a shop and fresh coffee each morning. It is also where guests can chat with the knowledgeable staff about what to see and do during their stay, as Americana Motor Hotel makes a great launching pad for those visiting the Grand Canyon, Sunset Crater, Lowell Observatory, endless hiking options or the ancient pueblos of Wupatki.

Staying on-site offers just as much fun. A heated pool, bikes for adventuring around Flagstaff, a fenced-in Barkyard, and a backyard sprinkled with firepits for cool nights, lawn games and telescopes for taking in the Dark Sky City are all within a few steps of each room.

A $15 amenity fee is applied per room, per stay and includes self-parking, high-speed WiFi, a welcome beverage, EV chargers, a reusable PATH water bottle, access to the hotel amenities and more.
