What do you do: We are married, single, moms, an executive, two REALTORS, a therapist, a flight attendant and great friends.
Share with us how you give back: It’s our honor to be the founders and chairs of ROOFTOP, a benefit for Homeward Bound. Fun story: the five of us took a trip to Jackson Hole, Wyo., a few years ago. After a day of white water rafting and a few bottles of excellent wine, we chatted about what we loved and didn’t love about charity events, and ROOFTOP was born. We included all the parts we loved and omitted the stuffy ballroom, being stuck at a table all evening and the long, painful live auction. We included cool lounge seating under the stars with Camelback Mountain as the backdrop, craft cocktails, over-the top food stations, a diva-worthy luxe raffle and rooftop dancing to a killer band.
Share with us why you give back: We feel so blessed but recognize that there are families without a place to call home. You may be surprised to learn that they look just like us, they work and go to school, but what happens at the end of the day is very different for these families. They may be couch surfing with a friend or relative or sleeping in their car this very night.
Tell us about one nonprofit you support and why: Homeward Bound supports families experiencing homelessness by providing so much more than just shelter. Their safe, gated campus includes 76 fully furnished apartments, food and clothing pantries, workforce development, educational courses, financial planning, an employment center and housing navigation to build skills and uplifts families on their journey to a home of their own. For the youngest residents, there is a childcare center, library/computer center, teen center, playgrounds and fitness trails. Designed to create a sense of community, as well as a healthy balance of work and play, these resources help children develop confidence and build resiliency. Homeward Bound is truly changing lives, one family at a time.
