Shady’s Fine Ales & Cocktails, a beloved neighborhood staple for nearly two decades, has been acquired by Barter & Shake Cocktail Entertainment. The renowned Phoenix-based hospitality company is behind local favorites, Century Grand and UnderTow.
The acquisition of Shady’s by Barter & Shake marks an exciting new chapter for the dive bar, as it sets the stage for a renovation and rebranding. Under the guidance of Barter & Shake’s experienced team, the historic charm of Shady’s will be preserved while incorporating the unique flair that Barter & Shake is known for.
As the summer continues, Shady’s will temporarily close its doors to undergo the transformation. The team at Barter & Shake is hard at work, ensuring the renovation proceeds smoothly. The bar will be ready to welcome back its loyal customers later this summer.

For years, Shady’s has been the go-to spot for locals seeking an inviting and laidback atmosphere to enjoy cold drinks, listen to great tunes on a jukebox and play pool. The venue is expected to broaden its horizons, offering a concept that aligns with Barter & Shake’s portfolio.
