The East Valley is about to get a taste of The Mexicano, a popular restaurant known for its innovative cuisine and vibrant atmosphere. The restaurant’s second Valley location is opening this fall at Chandler Fashion Center.
This expansion of The Mexicano comes courtesy of The Maggiore Group, the dynamic force behind several Valley culinary gems, including The Rosticceria, Hash Kitchen, The Sicilian Butcher and The Sicilian Baker.
Since the inception of its first Valley restaurant in Scottsdale in 2021, The Mexicano has been celebrated for its chef-driven menu that pays homage to traditional Mexican cuisine with global influences. Noteworthy dishes include birria bao buns and a photo-worthy guacamole and salsa ferris wheel.
A standout feature of The Mexicano is its famous build-your-own margarita bar that will be in the Chandler location as well. The new location will continue to offer daily happy hour specials, featuring items such as classico margaritas, Mexican draft beers and unique cocktails, alongside $3 tacos with choices of al pastor and chicken tinga, not forgetting the cheekily named “Best F-ing Queso Birria.”
“Our Chandler location will be the same fun, energetic, delicious Mexicano our guests know and love,” says Joey Maggiore, chef and co-founder of The Maggiore Group and Chef Joey Concepts, in a recent press release. “We are thrilled to be bringing our second location, and the party, to the East Valley this fall.”
The interior of the Chandler location, designed by Cristine Maggiore, Chef Joey’s wife, will mirror the original restaurant’s festive Mexico City-inspired ambiance. The space will feature vibrant colors, authentic Mexican furniture, and both indoor and outdoor seating areas. Enhancing the environment will be a custom DJ booth, set to host a variety of Latin music spun by rotating DJs, complemented by performances from fire dances and local Mariachi bands.
Ahead of its opening, The Mexicano Chandler will launch a hiring spree this summer, looking to fill various roles, including servers, bartenders, food runners and more.
