Restaurant of the Week: Dapper & Stout Uptown

A Valley staple since 2018, Dapper & Stout has launched a new innovative food and beverage program at its third Valley location in Uptown Phoenix. The fresh menu offerings were developed by acclaimed Food Network star, Chef Aaron May, with revamped favorites and a unique specialty selection.

With a bold and modern design, Dapper & Stout Uptown offers a relaxed environment perfect for catching up with loved ones and friends, regardless of the time of day and whether it is over coffee or a craft cocktail. The space is airy and open, featuring blue leather accents, neon signs and wood elements. The shop’s design extends out onto the outdoor patio, with shaded seating and an overhead misting system to keep temperatures cool.

With Chef Aaron May from the Food Network now at the helm, the traditional menu at Dapper & Stout Uptown has received a makeover, with familiar favorites offering a bold new taste. Longtime fans of the fare will be happy to know items like the Cinnamon Butter French Toast Panini, The Breakfast Bagel and the Beyond Meat Chili (as well as the baked goods) will still be available. In addition to these plates is Chef May’s new addition, The Amazing Bites, featuring options like the Pizza Di Pane, with fig jam, goat cheese, forest mushrooms and arugula; the Southwestern Chicken Lettuce Wraps, with Aji lime chicken, roasted corn, black beans, red onion, tomatoes and cilantro; and the Lox by Chula, a modern take on the Nova Lox bagel in collaboration with local neighbor, Chula Seafood.

The Phoenix eatery’s coffee and teas are still available, in addition to some to-die-for seasonal drinks like the pumpkin chai. If you aren’t looking for a festive sip, try your hand at a glass from the extensive cocktail, kombucha, beer or wine menus. Some of our favorite cocktail creations include the Aperol Spritz, Tropical Like Its Hot and the Carajillo, a coffee cocktail. Each is perfect for brunch or a late-night sip.

Alongside new menu offerings, the space will now also feature commissioned art from Amit Shimoni, creator of the series HIPSTORY. In the series, he reimagines iconic public figures like Frida Kahlo, Marilyn Monroe, Albert Einstein (and more), and turns them into hipsters. The series of portraits can be found alongside the back wall in its new home spot.

Dapper & Stout Uptown is open Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
