Embracing the spirit of the Year of the Dragon, Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill in Scottsdale has curated a menu that reimagines classic Chinese New Year dishes. The Lunar New Year menu will be available from Feb. 9 to Feb. 29.
The festivities begin on Feb. 9 with a traditional Lion Dance presented by the 9 Dragons Lion Dance Team. An encore performance by the award-winning troupe is scheduled for Feb. 16.
In keeping with Asian traditions, food served during Lunar New Year festivals often has strong symbolism. Dumplings and spring rolls symbolize wealth, while fish and shrimp represent prosperity and happiness. Noodles symbolize a wish for a long life. The Lunar New Year menu at Ling & Louie’s features an array of small bites and feasts for two. Guests indulging in the themed Lunar New Year menu will be treated to a special touch: a Lucky Red Envelope containing an exclusive offer.
The small bites include ginger-pork dumplings, pork and shrimp dumplings, vegetable spring rolls and wonton soup. The Lunar New Year Feasts include Char Siu Pork Tenderloin Feast for Two (specialty marinated and roasted pork tenderloin, served with wasabi mashed potatoes, asparagus, cucumber salad, fresh herbs, bao buns and assorted sauces); Beijing Duck Feast for Two (seared duck breasts with assorted sauces, lettuce, bao buns and Beijing duck noodles); and Crispy Whole Fish Feast for Two (crispy marinated fish, Szechuan vegetables, fried rice and assorted sauces).
No Lunar New Year celebration would be complete without a toast, and Ling & Louie’s has curated a selection of craft cocktails to help you celebrate, including the Spicy Peach Margarita, Apples to Apples, Pineapple Punch and New Wave Pina Colada.
