Restaurant of the Week: Patio 54 Fusion Kitchen

Asian flavor meets Southwestern flair at Patio 54 Fusion Kitchen, a staple in Phoenix’s High Street offering experimental fare that grants you the best of each culture’s cuisine.

Located in the heart of High Street in northern Phoenix, Patio 54 Fusion Kitchen is a unique concept offering New American fare infused with Asian and Southwestern flavors and techniques. The laidback restaurant is perfect for catching up with loved ones and aims to make guests feel like they are simply hanging out on their own patios.

The dining destination offers a moody design with intimate lighting, dark wood elements, black marble finishes and bold red leather accents. An assortment of string lights brighten the space, in addition to a garage-style wall that opens the dining room onto its cozy patio. The restaurant features two bars to grab a drink from; one acting as the focal point of the interior while the other expands outside.

Expect the unexpected when perusing the menu at Patio 54. The concept’s eccentric take on creating its signature dishes may be daunting to some, but the cuisines’ flavors are blended to perfection for a dining experience unlike any other. To start your meal, we highly recommend the Korean nachos, crafted with tortilla chips, Gochujang queso, chicken tinga, kimchi, guacamole, black beans, jalapenos, salsa, green onion and crema. The dish is large enough to share and satisfying enough to enjoy on its own with a cocktail or two. The stars of the menu showcase the best of Korean-style staples while mixing in traditional Mexican elements. The Birria Fusion Ramen is a to-die-for bowl, complete with birria beef, ramen broth, an egg marinated in soy sauce, mung bean sprouts, hominy, green onion, cilantro, jalapeno and lime. If you aren’t wanting something as heavy as a bowl of ramen, opt for the Kalbi rib, a sweet and spicy Korean-style short rib with kale slaw, sesame, ginger, Mexican spices and arroz rojo. Each dish is crafted with locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients for the freshest experience possible.

Wine-

To drink, Patio 54 has a refreshing collection of handcrafted cocktails, including the Arizona-inspired Red Rocks with vodka, peach schnapps and cranberry juice; the Oaxacan Old Fashioned with tequila, mezcal, orange, cherry, agave and bitters; or the Paloma with mezcal, lime, grapefruit, agave and soda water. An assortment of beer, spirits and wines can also be found on the beverage lineup, including an extensive wine list featuring whites, reds, bubbles and rosé.
