Prickly Pear Kitchen: Inspired Food + Cocktails Opens in Page

A new gem has opened inside Hyatt Place Page/Lake Powell. Prickly Pear Kitchen: Inspired Food + Cocktails in Page is a signature destination with elevated yet comforting dishes that blend traditional Southwest and Sonoran flavors. In honor of its grand opening, the hotel is offering a specialty stay package for foodie-driven travelers.

Created by Nadia Santacruz, the general manager at Hyatt Place Page/Lake Powell, Prickly Pear Kitchen offers a menu inspired by Santacruz’s childhood in Sonora, Mexico. The dishes were created using fond family recipes from her grandmother and mother and are only crafted with fresh, locally-sourced spices, plant life, proteins and seasonal produce.

“With Prickly Pear Kitchen, we’re taking my own personal family recipes and infusing a Southwestern flair,” says Santacruz in a press release. “I’m really proud of the made-from-scratch sauces, dressings and soups, and we look forward to welcoming locals and travelers to join us for a great meal with some of the best sunset views in the city.”

Some menu standouts include the Mighty Green Dip, with cactus, spinach, artichoke and queso fresco; chicken tortilla soup, with grilled chicken breast, roasted peppers, tomatoes, onions and tortilla chips; and the Prickly pear Cactus Quinoa Salad with steamed red quinoa, salt-cured cactus, kale, broccoli, carrots, brussels sprouts, cranberries and house pear vinaigrette.

Tamarindo Margarita

In addition to the scratch-made fare, the kitchen offers a wide selection of craft cocktails, including Tamarindo Margarita with Espolon Blanco Tequila, tamarind pulp, triple sec, citrus and Tajin; the Lime in the Coconut with RumChata, Malibu, lime and coconut water; or the Green Apple Pisco Sour, with Pisco, green apple puree, lime and egg whites.

In celebration of the grand opening, Hyatt Place Page/Lake Powell is offering guests a stay package available to book until Dec. 31. The package offers suite accommodations and a $50 daily credit to Prickly Pear Kitchen.
