One Handsome Bastard, Scottsdale’s first and only micro-distillery, is now open and offering artisanal spirits in the heart of Old Town. At One Handsome Bastard, the art of distillation takes center stage, offering premium, small-batch gin and vodka that is hand-distilled and manufactured onsite in collaboration with Blue Clover Spirits.
Ran by the dynamic mother-daughter duo Trish and Bren Ritchie, One Handsome Bastard is more than just a distillery. It pays tribute to their late husband and father, Brad Ritchie. In his honor, 10 percent of the profits from One Handsome Bastard’s Vodka will be donated to local nonprofits dedicated to the fight against cancer.
“One Handsome Bastard is not just about crafting exceptional spirits but celebrating life and cultivating community,” says Trish, owner and operator of One Handsome Bastard, in a press release. “We invite the Valley to raise a glass with us. It’s for a good cause.”
The ambiance of One Handsome Bastard seamlessly blends modern-industrial aesthetics with a rustic charm, showcasing a poured-concrete bar, a barrel-inspired kitchen, dangling Edison bulbs, an outdoor patio and a captivating view of the copper distilling apparatus from the dining room.
The menu offers an array of craft cocktails, such as the Scottsdale Sunset, blending Blue Clover grapefruit-infused vodka with lemon, Aperol, grapefruit juice and simple syrup, and the BC Basil, combining Blue Clover gin with agave, elderflower, lemon and basil. One Handsome Bastard offers an array of house-made infused vodka flavors, which include grapefruit, green chile, pepper, lemon and many more.
Complementing the libations are elevated bar foods, ranging from traditional wings to gourmet burgers. Standout offerings include the crowd-pleasing Bar Fight Nachos, featuring tortilla chips topped with queso, cheddar, black beans, fresh jalapeno, pico de gallo, chipotle crema and roasted chicken, alongside the Pine Top Burger, with balsamic-reduced onions, bacon, provolone cheese and house-made aioli.
One Handsome Bastard is open Sunday to Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Happy hour is available Monday to Friday, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., offering half-priced cocktails and discounts of wine and draft beers.
