Hacienda Del Sol

Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch Resort

Hacienda Del Sol, a Forbes four-star resort in Tucson, has completed its year-long expansion and is welcoming guests to a luxury stay steeped in historic charm.

The guest ranch resort initially opened its doors in 1929 when John and Helen Murphey built the property to be a “home away from home” ranch school for the daughters of society’s elite. Years later in 1944, the school was re-imagined and converted into a guest ranch that attracted stars like John Wayne and continues to thrive as the “Soul of Tucson in the Heart of Foothills” today.

With a mission to provide true relaxation to each guest, Hacienda offers pet-friendly amenities to help your pup unwind and vacation in style. The resort offers soft dog beds, nutrient treats and toys. Guests can expect each room to reflect the natural beauty of the Sonoran desert and will find each space has been designed carefully to showcase classic Southwest elegance and modern comfort. The resort recently underwent a big renovation and added on 40 new guest rooms, complete with mountain views, private patios and a few select spaces featuring private outdoor showers.

In addition to the new rooms, the hotel added a 40-ft. lap pool, an infinity-edge wading pool and a large sun deck. The new pool space will also offer a brand new, state-of-the-art fitness center and two fire pit lounges.

Hacienda has two fine dining restaurants on-site to choose from, The Grill at Hacienda and Terraza Garden Patio and Lounge. Each spot offers live music, a wine selection of over 800 labels and handcrafted cocktails. The talented chefs use the freshest ingredients from an organic on-site garden with a bounty providing seasonal veggies, fruit and herbs for each meal. If you pay close attention, you might catch a chef harvesting ingredients.

For those who would prefer to enjoy activities indoors, Hacienda offers an exceptional private spa offering facials and massages with Swedish techniques. A botanical garden and outdoor art gallery can be found outside, featuring sculptures, paintings, pottery and tile work. The art can be found throughout the desert-scape, with over 100 pieces to be discovered.
